Few of the features I worked on during AC Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok
To make the golden rock formations, I create a new shader to turn out golden rocks but not losing all other features of our rock system like triplanar blends, variaous detail mapping , stratification , baked high poly normal maps. Using only parametric values to create gold.
Another interesting feature was the gigantic statues in the world. I opted again for a custom shader to use all the features I felt the statues would need. Near and Far scale , blending , tiling blended textures combined with custom textured big scale maps - albedo/normal/AO from high poly and painter. Custom masks for damages/moss dirt, detail texturing.
